Here are some answers to questions that you may have about our work.

What primary services do you offer?

We help to match freelance researchers with other publishers that need articles. We also help to connect freelance researchers with organizations requesting training and presentations in their areas of expertise.

What are the rates of your services?

Variable.

How do you submit a manuscript to the JBR?

You must first be a member of our forum in order to submit an article.

Submissions are currently accepted by email at blackresearchersunited@afrologia.org. We are working on developing an option for direct submissions through the forum dashboard. We hope to roll out this feature our new forum soon.

What does the publishing process look like?

Assuming the contributor has met all of the guidelines for article submissions, their manuscript will follow the standard publishing process.

First, the summitted draft will be reviewed by our admin team, who will judge based on three main criteria: relevance, reason, and creativity.

Then, the article will continue to the proofreading and editing stage.

The annotated copy with the editor’s notes will be e-mailed to the author for review and subsequent drafts will be sent back until the results are satisfactory to both the author and editor.

After the final arrangement has been decided, the article will be typed verbatim to the journal editor and decorated with any submitted images.

A day will be agreed upon during which the editor and author can meet over webcam to make live changes before the agreed date of publishing. Meme design proposals and live discussion plans will be discussed a part of this meeting.

The article will be included in the next issue of our journal. It will appear in our print edition alongside other articles submitted during the same period. A link to the online version will be provided to our subscribers by e-mail.

Are your articles peer reviewed?

The Journal of Black Research (JBR) is not associated with any college, university or mainstream research institute. Furthermore, we do not restrict our pool of potential contributors to persons with scholarly credentials. Therefore, for all practical purposes, the JBR is not to be recognized as academic journal. 

Articles are voted on by our community of researchers before they can be placed here in our journal. Articles that do not pass the voting stage remain on our community blog (a separate site) for further review.

How long does it take for an article to reach publication after it is first submitted?

Overall, this process takes around one to two weeks.
